Professional Experience and Significant Achievements

3RD ENGINEER (Feb 2006- Present)

Maersk Line:

Primarily responsibility is for the running and carrying out maintenance to the auxiliary engines/generators.
Also carrying out maintenance of diesel generating plant and associated equipment
Completing permits to work, ordering spares and helping with maintenance planning.
Assisted in overhauling and inspecting main engine components and checking parts are within manufacturers tolerances when exchanged such as pistons, cylinder heads, exhaust valves, fuel injection equipment etc.
Carrying out watches and being responsible for the operation of the whole engine room.
Supervising other crew members during main engine and other maintenance activities. Guided and trained subordinate Cadet Engineers and Fourth Engineers.
Involved in controlling and transferring sludge operations onboard and discharging sludge to shore facilities.
Carrying out full engine or component overhauls including cylinder liners and cylinder heads, ancillary equipment, transmissions, pumping equipment.
Overhauling and servicing ships’ engines, - responsible for the routine and ad hoc maintenance duties plus the
smooth, efficient running of the engines and ancillary equipment as well as deck machinery, including boilers, pumps, compressors, plant such as generators and M/E injection equipment.
Power Generators: experienced in servicing generating equipment.
Turbo Chargers: Carrying out aspects of turbocharger overhaul, Vast experience of all sizes and makes of turbos from small commercial to the largest marine applications.
Knowledge and experience also developed on systems, equipment, and operations, such as: Fuel Injection: calibration and test facilities; pneumatic, electronic and mechanical controllers; centrifugal multi-stage injection pumps; fixed fire fighting installations; high pressure/high volume centrifugal and reciprocating compressors; Large volume sea water treatment plant; variety of pump, compressors and diesel engines.
Compressors: Atlas Copco, Sperre, Hamworthy, Tam Rotor, Hat Lapa, Comp Air.
