LOGISTICS AND FINANCE OFFICER (2009 - 2012)

New Zealand Defence Force (2 Engineer Regiment):

Responsible for all vehicles, equipment and spares held within the regiment, training and staff progression, writing and dissemination of policy and procedures and yearly budget.
As Logistics and Equipment Manager (responsible for all vehicles and weapons); Centralised the vehicle fleet management system that enabled better management of vehicles, repair and availability. Met all logistical requirements.
Controlling 107 light and heavy vehicles, including JCBs (new HEME), Dumpers, Graders and Land Rovers). Our inventory and equipment has a value of over $100 million.
Introduced Line Item Accounting (LIA).
Providing logistical advice to all departments.
As Finance Officer (operating budget of $2.8 million); Monitored and adjusted the budget and approved expenditure. Compiled and presented annual bids.
As Line Manager: Responsible for the welfare, performance, appraisals and administration of 18 personnel.

OFFICER IN COMMAND (2007 - 2009)

New Zealand Defence Force (2nd Health Support Battalion):

Managed the medical facility with 5 doctors, 6 nurses and 6 admin staff, the majority of staff being civilians.
Improved the output of the facility by creating a smooth working relationships and establishing staff cohesion.
As Line Manager: daily admin and running the medical facility, reporting on staff, liaison with HR services, interviewing and employment of staff and liaison with higher military command and local civilian organisations.
As Training Manager: responsible for all training and operational matters for medics, nurses and doctors. I had a team of instructors working for me who disseminated the training policy down to the lowest level.
Responsible for ensure all military exercises and operations had the required medical cover.
As Logistics Manager: responsible for whole medical inventory, including vehicles and weapons.

OPERATIONAL MANAGER (2005 - 2007)

New Zealand Defence Force (21 Supply Company):

As Company 2IC, responsible for all logistic departments, training, exercise and operational support, Health & Safety, policies, planning and controlling yearly “Forecast of Events”.
Logistics: responsible for inventory and all inter-departmental tasks, ensured all objectives were met.
Organised and deployed logistic support for significant national events at short notice.
As Training Manager: Planned and coordinated major exercises for peacetime and operational roles.
Allocated and coordinated manning for overseas operations, such as Afghanistan, East Timor, and Solomon’s.
Ensured individuals had the relevant experience and qualifications and organised training.
Line Manager and Health & Safety Officer: responsible for HR, welfare and administration 188 soldiers and civilians.
In the absence of the Officer in Command, took over full control of the unit for 3 months.
